Powder/Laundry Room Addition
One of the best things about our home is how it's laid out. There is a lot of potential to transform the space relatively easily. The house currently has two bathrooms upstairs and a toilet, sink and shower spread out in the basement. Laundry is also in the basement. Not having a main level bath wouldn't be a deal breaker but having an accessible place for family and guests without sending them upstairs would be great. And having laundry on the main floor would be ideal too. There is a room right off of the dining room (central in the house) that is too small to be anything much but has enough space to house a stool, sink and laundry appliances.
Here's the layout we're thinking of:
We like the idea of the appliances behind cabinet fronts with a countertop for folding clothes. We want it to look like a powder room more so than a laundry room so that when guests are using it, it doesn't feel so utilitarian. Above is a mix of inspiration and materials we're considering using in the space.
What do you think? Would you use it as a full bath or do you like the idea of the laundry/bathroom combo?
